Including members of the Bottletones and Venus Flycats, these guys will rock you!  Fueled by booze and an unnatural need for speed, Hillbilly Idle comes to the stage with a vicious combination of Rockabilly, Punk, Country, and Surf.  This ain’t your Grandad’s Rockabilly.

These guys are a true bluegrass band that is equally at home making their audience feel the desperation of old-school punk and outlaw country as they are with the frenzy of Irish music and good, old mountain hillbilly music.  They list their influences as: Poverty, Depression, Love, Unity, Murder, Mayhem, Addiction and Affliction.  That’s about right.  Yup.

The Stacks (Chicago, IL)

We decided to mix things up this year… with a big stick!  The Stacks have been drivin’ ‘em wild around Chicago with that big early 60s Memphis soul groove (played Chicago-style, of course!).  The band features members of several local rockabilly, garage, and surf bands, including the Reluctant Aquanauts.  You can try to deny it, but yer gonna wanna dance.

Back by popular demand!  Take a heapin’ helpin’ of good ol’ 60s garage pop from the likes of The Kinks, The Shirelles, and The Yardbirds, then add a glop of pop punk from Blondie, The Ramones, and The Clash, and stir it up with Link Wray’s guitar and you’ve got a darn good garage band. If you missed them last year, here’s that rare second chance.
