Charity

The Chrome Czars Motor Club would like to thank all of the volunteers, sponsors and attendees for their support and help in enabling the club to give a portion of the proceeds to charitable organizations. In previous years the Chrome Czars have taken the profits from the current years show and re-invested them into the next year’s show. It takes a lot of money upfront to put on the show, which is why we have sponsors (but keep the cost low for the little guy) and we have to be prepared for a natural disaster… like say… a rainstorm… that would prevent most people from coming out. In that case, we would still have to pay the bands, etc, even if no one showed up. Or say, we don’t sell many shirts (like last year, no one wanted white). Our plan all along was to have enough money in the bank to be able to fund a show even if no one showed up, and give the rest to charity.

2007 marked the first year where we had enough money in the bank for next year and enough left over to donate to charities. And we had a lot! $10,500!

Each of the Chrome Czars picked a charity and we sent them $1500 each. We all had personal reasons to give to each charity. We hope, with your help we will be able to do even better this year!

The 7, 2007 charities are:

Hospice Alliance
Mid Atlantic Air Museum P-61 project
The Smile Train
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
USO
USO Operation Phone Home
